Christmas Lights Switch On 2025

A week on from the 2025 Christmas Lights Switch On and we wanted to share some amazing drone photography by Dan Hughes!

The evening began as usual with Santa riding through the town centre on his Sleigh and in his grotto, he attracted a huge crowd of children all eager to tell him what they would like for Christmas. Just next door to the grotto, Lutterworth Town Band entertained passers by. The funfair was again a major attraction whilst the on stage entertainment warmed up the crowds and got them into the festive spirit.

Four of our local retailers won prizes for their amazing shop windows: Best Illuminated (E&R Tearooms), Best Dressed (Cottons Group) and Most Innovative (Fortnams Chemist). Finally, the people of Lutterworth voted in an additional category for Lutterworth's Choice won by The Archway Gallery.

Lutterworth Town Mayor, Councillor Val Cooper was on stage to switch on the Christmas lights, which was followed by the traditional fireworks display, watched by the vast crowd gathered in the Town Hall square around a beautiful Christmas Tree, gifted to the town by Silk Powder Beauty Clinic (above Costa Coffee).

Throughout the evening hot mulled wine was enjoyed in Lutterworth Christmas mugs whilst there was also an opportunity to do a spot of late night Christmas shopping in the shops, bars and café's that stayed open for the event. Street entertainers and Archers View kept passers by amused on High Street, catering vendors put on a wide variety of street food and Neil Green Catering kindly fed all of the hungry volunteer marshals who had worked hard (for free) all day/night!!
