Dog Waste Bin Updates 2025 – ANY BIN WILL DO campaign!
During the start of 2025, you may notice that the red dog waste bins start disappearing around Lutterworth. For every dog waste bin that is removed, Lutterworth Town Council will ensure that a sufficient general waste bin is put in its place, if there is not one there already, that will take all the dog waste AND general waste.
Bagged dog waste is not separated from general waste when it is collected and is all disposed of together. So having separate designated dog waste bins that are emptied on a separate schedule is not cost effective. In addition to this, a lot of the red dog waste bins are of insufficient size to collect the amount of waste being disposed of.
A recent survey carried out by Lutterworth Town Council has highlighted that doing this will reduce tax payers money being spent on emptying waste.
This is why Lutterworth Town Council are launching the ANY BIN WILL DO campaign to encourage residents to dispose of their dog waste correctly.
Work has already begun upgrading some of the general waste bins around the town and will continue alongside the removal of the dog waste bins.
If a bin is full, please either wait until you pass another bin or take it home!
* Please note, this applies to dog bins maintained by Lutterworth Town Council only.
