STAY AT HOME
Over the last week, Lutterworth Town Council has received a number of complaints regarding people gathering in public open spaces, in breach of the current lockdown regulations which require everyone to stay at home.
Can we please remind everyone that you must only leave your house for essential reasons, such as travelling to and from work (if you are unable to work from home), attending medical appointments or essential shopping. Exercise is permitted with one other person outside of your household, but this does not include sitting with others on public benches, or gathering with friends in open spaces. Signage reminding residents of the current law regarding lockdown will be placed in all Council owned open spaces. While the council does not have the resources to patrol these areas, the police have asked us to remind residents that they are now patrolling regularly and will enforce the law by issuing fines in instances where the law is broken. They have also asked that residents contact them on 101 where they witness a breach of the law.
We all understand how tough the last year has been, but with light on the horizon we must all try to remain strong until vaccinations are fully rolled out. For now we must all stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
