The residents and businesses of Lutterworth did not fail to impress again this year as nomination forms for the 2017 Lutterworth in Bloom competition came in thick and fast. With over 20 nominated gardens, containers and allotments to view, the judges really had their work cut out viewing each and every one in detail. They looked at the variety of colour, flower combinations, originality of planting and overall presentation.

Once again the judges were blown away by the quality of entries for the competition and this made narrowing down to just one winner for each category extremely difficult. Lead by the Town Mayor Councillor Mike Perks, the judges debated each and every entry and after much deliberation the winners were:

* Best Public Garden - The Greyhound Coaching Inn
* Best Allotment - Plot 9, Crescent Road Allotments
* Best Private Garden - 17 Burrough Way
* Best Hanging Basket/Container - 67 Bitteswell Road

The prize giving event will take place at The Town Council office on the evening of Tuesday 1st August 2017 where the winners will be awarded a trophy, certificate and £50 of garden centre vouchers.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the people that entered! You should be extremely proud of what you have achieved.

Special thanks to The Sir Frank Whittle Studio School for producing the winning trophies and to Sue Turner who kindly offered to judge for the panel.
